Dress Up or Down

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Weather has been quite calm here for January so that is always good! I love a piece that you can style more than one way and today’s look is just that. In this shoot, I chose to go casual. Threw on my favorite jean jacket and I love these “tennies” — they go with so much! I can just as easily throw on a pair of boots and a scarf with this knit dress for a bit more dressy look! The uneven hem makes it more interesting! It’s also very comfortable and comes in a cream color as well! A good faded denim jacket is a must have piece to have in your closet. I got this one last summer but there are so many out there! Do you have a favorite denim jacket? I think I’m going to get a white one as Spring approaches! Bell Sleeve Beauty

TGIF! Good Friday friends! When I saw this bell sleeve beauty online, I knew I had to have it! I’m a sucker for anything bell sleeve and I just love this pale pink color it comes in! It also comes in two other colors as well. (Macy’s discounts this brand during frequent promotions so watch for a coupon code if you’re interested!) The dropped shoulders and the big bell sleeves make this pull over v-neck a real winner! If I could change one thing, I’d make it a bit longer though. I was in Florida last week and took my Neverfull LV bag in to be repaired and out I walked with the same bag but in the Damier canvas. I have had my eye on this bag for a while and got it as a Christmas gift to myself. I love it along with the red interior! Over the holidays I also snagged these Marc Fisher suede boots on sale and they go nicely with the bag. They are lace up style but really slip on with a convenient side zipper. That’s all for now. This was our first week back to our routine..We are all ready for the weekend! No doubt you are too! Have a great one!

I was going through my photos and saw this grouping we shot in late Fall. It hit me I haven’t shared this amazing, cozy patchwork cardigan with you yet. The one I am wearing came out last summer as part of Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale. It sold out super fast! Then a couple of weeks ago, I saw it came out again in a gorgeous version of greys! THAT one sold out super duper fast too! You can still find some sizes in it here. I also love this similar one and this one too! I have gotten SO much use of this number! I traveled to and from Florida last week in it and left my big parka at home. It is SUPER warm and oversized and was just perfect for the trip on the plane! I also just wore it yesterday to run errands in as well! It is super nasty here. Not real cold but very windy and rainy! Just plain gross weather! The Power of Positive Thinking

Happy Monday! The power of positive thinking. If it’s not warm, we can dream it is or at least be prepared for when we are basking in warm sunlight again. 🙂 I figured we’ve hit the January doldrums and a post featuring swimsuits might help lift our spirits as we start off the week. I know it’s a time of year many are either soon heading to warmer climates or boarding cruise ships. Even if you are not going anywhere in the very near future, it’s not too early to start getting a gorgeous suit for when you do. The super cute ones sell out fast! These one pieces are a few of my favorites. I LOVE Becca Suits and I own one exactly like the style of number 2 in the photo but in a different pattern. Last summer, I got SO, SO many compliments on it! I have to get it now in the blue pattern. I highly recommend! A gorgeous black suit should also be a must have in your swimsuit wardrobe. So even if it’s cold and snowing where you are today, I hope this post gives you a little motivation to feel positive as we look towards Spring or warmer weather.

Turtleneck Poncho

Heading back from a glorious week of soaking up the sun in Southwest Florida. Before leaving last week, we shot this look as the flakes started flying. This turtleneck poncho is very warm and super comfortable. The Tissue tee from Jcrew is a MUST have. I own several in white, black and grey! They are pricey but worth it! They are often 40 percent off! Not looking forward to arriving in arctic cold in Chicago this afternoon! The weather here in Florida has been gorgeous..high in the 70’s! Back to reality! A Wintertime Pop of Neon

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. Now back to reality and for some, what feels like a long winter ahead. When I first spotted this Parka in this color, I knew I had to have it! Almost all my winter coats are black and this pop of neon is so pretty when the days tend to be so dark and overcast. It has a pretty A-line shape and is inspired by old-school stadium blankets. It truly is very warm without a lot of bulkiness. I love hoods on coats. This one has a removable faux-fur trim and adds a little glam to an already eye catching coat! I’m so excited for 2017 and I so appreciate you taking the time to stop by and for supporting my blog!
