So if you want to feel a little sassy and a tad bit badassy, just grab a pair of (faux) patent leather pants! Talk about an effortless way to take a ho hum outfit up a notch right?!

These faux patent pants are way more comfortable than you might think..in fact, they are REALLY comfy! They have a nice stretch to them and hug you in all the right places…and surprisingly, are really very forgiving!

I’m in love with the split hem. Looks great with boots or even heels! These leggings also go great with a tunic style sweater like mine (only $24!) I also love these pants styled with a faux fur leopard jacket! So many fun ways to wear these pants!

Holiday Coat Buying Guide – My Top Picks

Winter came early here this year and I felt a bit caught off guard! We went straight from windbreaker style jackets to full blown winter coats! If you’re in need of some coat ideas or wanting to gift a coat to someone this holiday season, I’m rounding up a few of my favorites right here for you!

Let me start with this amazing Jacket I’m wearing here! In my neck of the woods (SW Michigan/Northern Indiana) Once late fall/winter arrives so do the gloomy, grey skies! Ugh, we rarely see the sunshine! I just LOVE how this purple jacket adds a HUGE pop of color to the dark days! It certainly makes a statement and looks awesome with a pair of jeans! An added bonus: it’s faux fur and faux leather! It’s super comfortable and you’ll be sure to get noticed in it!

Beige Tailored Car Coat: This is just a fabulous basic you need in your closet! I love this look with a camel colored scarf added to it like this one here!

Brushed Peacoat: Another timeless look is the classic peacoat style! So easy to wear and great for running errands and going out to eat. I also love this one here on sale!

Faux Fur Leopard Coat: You can’t go wrong with an animal print coat this season! I wrote about one I love in this blog post here wearing this coat from Chicos. But, if you’re looking for a warmer style I love this one here and this longer style here.

A Fun and Easy to Wear Fleece Dress + $1000 Nordstrom Gift Card Giveaway

Don’t you hate those people who brag they are all done decorating, shopping and wrapping!? LOL…just kidding but seriously…these people must really have their s*#t together! On to today’s look: sometimes it’s fun to get out of your comfort zone and experiment with pieces you would normally pass on after first glance. I thought I’d take a chance on this teddy bear sweater dress! Surprisingly, I really loved it when I tried it on! Due to the length, I knew a pair of over the knee boots would look best with this style! I bought a medium and small and ended up going with the small for reference!

Another great way to style it would be to wear it tunic style over a pair of faux leather leggings like these here. This dress would be great for meeting the girls for lunch or date night!

2018 Holiday Decor-Christmas Decorating Ideas for Your Home

I love to decorate the whole house for the holidays! I’ve been at is since shortly after Halloween! It’s a lot of work – but so worth it! I love the warmth and coziness of our trees, tiny string lights aglow and fire going in the fireplace.

I’m a HUGE fan of finding decorations for the holidays at places like TJmaxx, Marshalls and Home Goods! They have SO much to choose from! Most of the items in these photos are from there! The key is to shop early in the season before it gets too picked over! I was just there today and they’re still putting out carts and carts of holiday stuff so it’s the perfect time!

I wanted to get this post published because I know so many of you will first start your Christmas decorations this weekend. I love when we have that extra week of November after Thanksgiving! Makes the holidays so much less stressful.

Here are some of my tips for making your home holiday ready and cozy for Christmas: I jumped on the flocked tree bandwagon 3 years ago and will likely never go back! Flocked trees are not as messy as many believe and they add such a gorgeous glow to your interior decorating! I know some people who have young children don’t even bother decorating them with ornaments. Seriously, you can get by with no or very minimal decorating because their beauty can really stand alone! It just brings the outdoors in and everyone who comes over comments on how pretty our flocked trees look!

I’m also a huge fan of those tiny, battery operated string lights on timers! I get a ton of them and decorate my shelves, my bar cart as well as the mini table top trees I have all around! I set them for about 5:30 each evening and they go off 4 hours later! Each day they pop back on! Makes things so easy and it’s so cozy to sit and watch tv with nothing but the glow of these lights and the Christmas tree!

Another favorite decoration is the glass trees in all shapes and sizes that are everywhere. Many of them can light up! I have a mix of both! Home Goods sells a ton of them. I also listed some great ones on sale down below. I have them in gold, silver and red in my living room.

Also, don’t forget about textiles! An oversized and super soft throw along with velvet or textured pillows make a home so ready for company! I get my throw pillows at TJ or Home Goods! They have the best prices on pillows and there are SO many to choose from. I listed a bunch of great pillow and throw ideas below as well.

And finally, I love to use a lot of fabulous ribbon in my trees. I love solids mixed with stripes, polka dots and different textures to add nice dimension and interest to the tree. You’ll notice those HUGE matte finished ornaments in red on my foyer tree and in matte silver on our family room tree. I love the dramatic look they give the tree and guess where I found them? Dollar Tree!!! They have had them two years in a row now. They don’t always have a lot of the matte ones so I go from store to store around our area to get enough. they are just cheap plastic but you would never know!

Black Friday Sales Have Started + My New Favorite Chunky Knit Scarf

Hey friends! Off to a busy week! How about you? I’m hosting Turkey day so making a big meal for Thursday and trying to get in on some of the great sales. I’ve noticed this year Black Friday has ALREADY started! All the retailers are trying to beat each other to the punch! Express is one of those retailers already slashing prices! Starting today, (Tuesday) everything in store and site wide is 50% off! I was in the store on Monday and since I am a rewards member, I was able to take advantage of the sale early! I picked up this super soft animal print on camel sweater! I sized up to a large. While the medium fit just fine, I liked the length better with the large! It is one of those styles that even while sizing up, you’re not drowning in it! I just like my sweaters longer, don’t you? My circle necklace is also from Express. I got it a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing it a lot! I get a ton of compliments on it! I like it with my circle belt! Down below, I’ll link a couple other favorites I bought at Express on Monday!

I also wanted to talk about this GREAT chunky knit cream scarf! It is so cozy and warm! This scarf is one of the items I featured in my Holiday Gift Guide 2018 here. It is beautiful quality and would make a fabulous gift. It’s only $35.00 and I think it looks far more expensive than that. It won’t be around long. Grab it while you can!

Keeping it brief as I have a ton of preparing to do. I like to prep my side dishes in advance to make things easier.
