Dawned On Me

Happy Friday!!  Yep, it was so nice I had to buy it twice!!!  This Free People dress has been on repeat since I got the first one (the white one) shortly before spring break!  We were running to lunch in Naples and I threw it on not really sure what to expect.  I instantly fell in LOVE!  It’s so beautifully crafted.  The fabric is extremely soft and it has a nice lining which means no worries about it being see thru etc.  I think the lining also gives it a nice little poof and helps with the nice movement of the piece.  The embroidery is gorgeous and the ruffled bell sleeves is a win win for me!! (I’m so not a fan of sleeveless dresses on me!)

I always know when something is a hit!  I got several compliments on this dress within a few hours out wearing it. A couple weeks later, I happened to snag the gold one on TJ Maxx online.  It also comes in Black.  I might even need it in black too! LOL  It’s really a great dress for any occasion!  It works casually for a lunch date and it would even be beautiful for a summertime wedding!

This dress has been out for quite a while and I’m always looking for great sales to pass along.  This dress hasn’t gone on sale.  I did however, find the white one 30 percent off and under $100 and it’s linked!

Happy weekend everyone!  Can you believe June has arrived!!??  Crazy right!?  It’s been such a nutty weather year that it seems spring has had such a difficult time getting here.  I am a big gardener and usually have my entire stock of flowers by late April, but this year we had to wait almost a month because it was so crummy and cold.  Then BAM!  Summer weather is here!  Last week was in the 90’s and I was able to get my flower shopping done!  On a recent trip to the greenhouse in Indiana who does the flowers for around our pool, I wore this Target floral kimono!  It’s under 30 and really looks far more expensive!   The tassel detail around the edges is a great touch!  I told Bill all we were going to do there was pick up the planters they had made for me, but I can never resist checking out all their fabulous greenhouses filled with amazing mixes of annuals!

Each year I plant about 25 pots of flowers for around the house.  I have a great method to the madness.  I tend to buy already mature baskets with a gorgeous mix of flowers and fillers.  I pop them out of the planters they are in and replant them into my own decorative planters.  This gives them a far longer life.  The pots you buy at the store or greenhouse — whether they are planters or hanging baskets  — are generally too small and the root system chokes itself out sooner than later.  I’ll be doing a blog post soon on how I do it.

Make sure to check out these strappy flats I recently got.  I’m not a huge wearer of flat sandals.  I always tend to opt for a bit of a heel but I am in LOVE with these!  They are really comfortable and they run true to size and go with SO much!  All the straps make them a showstopper!

Who’s ready for the weekend?  This is always such a crazy busy time of year!!  Weddings, Showers, Graduations, BBQ’s….the list goes on and on!  All these events have me scrambling to find just the perfect thing to wear and I think I found it right here!  REALLY!!  This perfect summertime patchwork trapeze dress is the one thing you really need in your closet right now!  It was love at first sight last week when I was looking for a casual, yet super cute and unique dress that so versatile and can be worn to almost anything you have going on this summer!  The quality is spot on per usual and has lining inside.   It has a tie front with tassels.  I love all the pretty little details!  The patchwork and the colors have me totally ga ga!! 🙂

The patchwork detail is so pretty!  After we shot this look I had to run into Walmart for a quick second and a woman pulling into her spot rolled down her window and yelled “I love your dress.!”  LOL!  Even at Walmart!   The patterned sections on the back are perfection!

Speaking of things I’m ga ga over this season…I’m in LOVE with these woven mules!  It was love at first site!  Just take a look at that flared statement heel!  They come in three colors:  Black, Caramel and Ivory!  The BEST part is that they are on SALE right now…I’ve linked them below along with this entire look! I usually like to size up in a slide or a mule.  I bought both my regular size eight and also an eight and half…and I ended up keeping the eights.  I’d say they are true to size.

Welcome to Monday everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  My mom came out to visit and we had an enjoyable day complete with lasagna that I made.  I never make it, rarely eat it and love it…ya know..those evil carbs!  LOL!  I figured I could treat myself for mom’s day!  It was yummy if I do say so myself.  🙂

Hopping on to tell you about this black and white polka dot dress for under $30 bucks!!  Yep, REALLY!!   Typically if a piece of clothing is really inexpensive there has to be a hitch right?  Nope, not with this one!  The fabric is so soft and comfy (not stiff at all like you’d expect with cheaper materials and fabrics)  It does wrinkle a bit but that’s what irons and steamers are for.

You’re dying to know where it’s from I bet!  Drumroll:  Target!  Wowza, Target has been absolutely killing it this season!  I stopped by a new Target In Indianapolis when Bill was having his knee surgery and the clothing section was filled with one great look after another!  This dress immediately caught my eye.  I love black and white and I couldn’t pass up the print!  It’s just the perfect summer polka dot ruffle dress under $30!

Wedding, showers, day out..this dress fits the bill!  Love the ruffle sleeves and the pocket detail on the front.

I also picked up my earrings when I found this dress.  They’re my new favorites!

So with that, why have I been M.I.A. these last couple of weeks?  Well, figuring out all this new technology can be a tad bit difficult for old gals like me. Lol!  I totally have the Instagram stuff down and I had to employ my wonderful and talented web designer to help me here by installing the program on to my site.  I’ve added some new features here where you will be able to shop my Instagram, shop by Insta-stories or shop the blog easily with just a click!

I think I might have this all figured out (for now at least)!!  I hope you enjoy the changes and find them easy and intuitive.

Now on to the fun stuff!  As I write this today, our pool is being opened!  It’s a bit early but it was all the pool people had available.  Otherwise, we would have had to wait until the middle of June!  So..bring on summer sooner than later right?  The weather this spring has been absolutely dreadful!  Shorts and sandals have been out of the question and finding the perfect spring trench coat under $100 was a must for me!  And I succeeded!  This trench is sooo good!

This trench is nice and lightweight.  It’s just one of those great “go to” pieces anytime you feel it’s a bit chilly outside, rainy or even windy like it was the day of this shoot.

The color is so versatile and it also comes in a gorgeous tone of blue!

Also, I just got these sunnies!  They remind me of the Louis Vuitton sunglasses Jenny McCarthy wore on the red carpet the night of the Grammys.  One big difference though – mine are only 25!!

I have had these slides for over a year now!  They are comfy and perfect for all seasons and are being price matched now so check them out.
