Dawned On Me

Hey babes!  Hope you had a great fourth of July holiday!  Can’t believe it’s past us already!  You know what that means, right?  Time for fall fashion to start coming out!  I know many of you will take issue with this, but I have always said that I far prefer Fall/Winter fashion.  I’d take a cozy cardigan and boots any day over shorts and sandals!  I know I’m in the minority.  I wasn’t always like this either…must be my age. LOL!  I remember working with a reporter who was telling me she loved coats, hats and boots and I was telling her “no way!” …So there you go!

My mom was in town for a few days and we went out shopping.  (I usually do most of my shopping online)  We ended up at Target and I found so many cute things!  Target has really been killing lately!  They’ve really stepped up their fashion department game! One of my favorite lines there is the Who What Wear line!  The pieces are so versatile and really pack a nice style punch!  I got this long sleeve striped henley (wearing a medium for reference. ALSO comes in a plus size!)  I also found an adorable gingham dress and a romper.  There were so many cute pieces!

This striped henley top goes great with white jeans.  I think it would also be awesome with some distressed grey jeans as well!  If you bought it oversized, it would also be a really cute swim cover-up!

A few other things:

Notice my mood ring?  I love this ring…it’s beautiful quality and the ever changing colors are amazing.    I had a mood ring when I was a kid and loved it!  I adore this one!  I highly recommend!

If you polish your own nails, I can’t recommend my white polish enough.  It’s an inexpensive Sally Hansen polish but goes on with deep pigment so you don’t need a ton of coats.  I’ll link it down below along with my all time favorite fast dry top coat that adds an amazing shine!

My Sandals are Rag & Bone and are my all time favorite!  They are a couple years old.  I found and ordered another Rag & Bone pair that are very similar.  I just got them!!  They are GORGEOUS and on MAJOR sale…from $495 down to just over $100.  I linked them below too!

Holy Cow!  Can you believe one week from today is the 4th of July!!??  Summer just started but everyone always says once the 4th gets here, it’s all downhill…lol!  Summer always feels too short for sure!  The weather here is beyond crazy and not sure if I’ll be wearing jeans, shorts or a parka.  Seriously, the extremes have been insane.  I first got these fun, red jeans around spring break.  When I posted them back in April my readers loved them!  I’m able to track those looks of mine which sell best and a bunch of people gobbled these BlankNYC jeans up back in the spring! They are THE most comfortable pair of jeans!  They’re soft, have the perfect amount of stretch and are very flattering!  Can you seriously go wrong? No, ESPECIALLY because they are on major MARKDOWN right now.  I linked several retailers who have them on sale in various sizes.. so hopefully you can find your size before they sell out!

If you’re in a denim wearing climate next week, these will be a must!  I paired them in the Spring with a navy/white stipe T-shirt.  I came across this gorgeous bubble sleeve embroidered top last week and knew it would go perfect with these jeans!  I’m wearing a medium for reference.  It too, is also on MAJOR sale.  The detail is gorgeous and it’s really soft and comfy!

Happy first official weekend of summer!  We’ve been hit with some super crummy, rainy weather!  Most of the week has been pouring rain!  Ugh!  There is a silver lining though!  I took the opportunity to get into my closet and really clean out!  Let me tell you, it’s one of my most dreaded chores!   I try to do it twice a year!  You see, one of the reasons I despise it so much is that I’ve always had a hard time parting with my stuff.  I have to give myself credit though.  Over the last few years I have been SO much better at just getting rid of it.  Organization “experts” always say the rule of thumb is if you haven’t worn it in a year, get rid of it!  That’s a good one!  Another easy way of getting rid of stuff is when it simply doesn’t fit anymore!  (insert the shocked face emoji) LOL!  My mom has always said she hates the way the closet shrinks her clothes.  Isn’t that the truth? 😉

Well, as summer kicks off, I’m excited to share with you this dress from the Brazilian line Farm Rio!  Most of their dresses have vibrant florals and bold patterns with a boho-vintage vibe! I have several dresses from this line and simply LOVE them.  Here is another one I have that I blogged about last summer here.

So I get a lot of compliments on these dresses.  I love how they are so unique.  Many styles are wrap dresses which I also really adore.  Funny story.  I posted a shot of this dress on IG the other day and someone commented that his dress looked like her grandma’s curtains or tablecloth!  LOL!  I seriously laughed out loud!  Maybe not quite, but yes, I can see these prints being a bit bold for the faint of heart. 😉  One thing is for sure, you’ll stand out wherever you’re wearing it.

Midweek already and at least it’s not as blazing hot as it has been!  If you love a deal I’ve got one for you today!  This Free People high-low tunic is perfect for the beach to the bar and is over $100.00 off now!  I ordered it online and as you know, it can sometimes be pretty tricky to pick things out just from a small picture.  When it came I was still unsure until I threw it on.  I love the dramatic length in the back and the high slits on the side and it hits me at about the knee in front.  It’s perfect for those not so hot days and is perfectly cozy after getting out of the pool or lake or at the beach.  It even has a great hood!  The colors are fabulous and for the price, you can’t beat it!

I  decided to throw this over a pair of stretchy white denim.  I think it would also look cute with white leggings.

I also wanted to point out my blue stone ring.  Guess what?  It’s a mood ring!  Remember those girls?  OMG!  I found this one on Etsy and absolutely ADORE it!  It TRULY turns brilliant colors and is such a fun ring to wear!  Talk about a conversation piece and a total blast from the past!!  The color range is really amazing!  I remember my mom buying me my first mood ring probably back in the 70’s.  I thought it was just the coolest thing!  LOL…if you have a daughter or know of a young girl who loves jewelry, this would make the PERFECT gift!  I linked it below.

Hope you’re having a great weekend!  It’s SUPER hot and humid here in the Midwest but it gives us something to complain about so all is well right? LOL!  I hate humidity more than beets! 🙂 I’ve been the usual; Running around like a chicken with its head cut off!  Ugh!  So much going on.  Too many outdoor yard projects, building a lake home and keeping up with the latest looks!  Life is exhausting and I really need to learn to stop and smell the roses once in a while!  Phew, it’s go go go!  I’m sure I’m not alone!  How do you manage all the hustle and bustle in your world?  Anyway, a fun outlet is blogging and I really LOVE passing on a great deal or find!   Today’s great find are my beachy pull on denim crops!  Talk about a UNIQUE pair of jeans if you want to call them that!  They’re like cross between sweat pants and jeans and I found them a bit weird at first.  I put them on and then I was hooked!  They are super comfy like your favorite pair of lounging pants!  They have a button fly and a rope style drawstring.

I wanted to mention sizing with these pull ons.  They run VERY large.  I’m wearing an XS and could also easily get by with a small for a more baggy look.  (I typically am a size 6 or 28 in most jeans for reference) Keep in mind, how large they run if you have plans of ordering them.

I thought this striped top would go great with these crops and I also think it makes the look somewhat beachy and perfect for a summertime vacation.  It comes in a couple other colorways.  It runs oversized (I’m wearing a small) and is VERY lightweight and airy.  Even though the sleeves are longer, it’s perfectly comfortable in the summertime.

I’ve gotten a bunch of new accessories!  I’m loving these teardrop statement earrings.  They also come in red!  I was thrilled too, to find these Quay sunglasses in a mini version.  I tried the original several times after seeing other bloggers in them but they were so big I felt like they overwhelmed my face.  These aviators are the perfect size and I love the ombre-like black to clear coloring.  These are must haves!
