What I Bought And Loved At The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – (And What To Do If Your Favorite Things Sold Out)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Time is always a wild roller coaster!  I felt lucky to be able to shop a day early because so much sold out in a flash.  My experience was a very positive one compared to last year with the site crashing and items being cancelled etc.  I still had a few things cancel this year and I know from reading comments that there are a lot of disappointed people out there again this year.  It’s nutty for sure and I understand how frustrating it can be!

Speaking from my experience alone however, I ordered on Thursday and by today, (Monday) I had everything on my doorstep.  So much is sold out now, but TRUST me there is a very good chance if you follow some easy tips, you can still snag what you wanted even if it says it’s sold out at the moment; make sure to read this entire post for my tips, I’ll explain in a bit.

But first, I’ll show you what I bought from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and loved (this is only a small portion that I tried on today.  I’ll be showing a bunch more in the coming weeks)

Shop my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Look:

Faux Fur Cropped Teddy Coat (wearing medium) | Denim (wearing 30) | Booties (True to size) | Belt | Black Cami

This BlankNYC Faux Fur Teddy Coat is soo soft.  I love the cropped cut and the color. (Also goes great with animal print booties)

  My jeans are the Topshop Jamie – I have several different washes of the Jamie and they are one of my favorite styles.  I love this pair’s chewed hem (see pic below) and the dark charcoal color.  They run 2 size small.  I normally wear a 28 and always get the size 30.  They pull up super tight despite having some stretch – but once they are on, they are really comfortable.

My Halogen Booties come in a lot of colors. (I also got the snake print) and they’re under $60!

This BP. Leopard Cardigan was brought back for the sale this year.  It first came out last Fall and sold out real fast.  I already had it!  It’s a real winner.  Wearing a medium.

Astr V-Neck| L’agence Denim (wearing my normal 28) | Sunglasses (Express on sale!) | Heels (similar)

This  soft and cozy Astr V-Neck Sweater goes great with a pair of high waist jeans!  This pair I am weraing by L’agence is my second pair by the brand.  They fit beautifully, have just the right stretch, and most importantly offer comfort.  Oh, and don’t forget they are super flattering!  They’re also a pricier denim line but now is the time to get them on sale!

Something Navy Leopard Cardigan

This Something Navy Leopard Cardigan is similar to the one above.  It’s soft, not itchy, true to size (medium) and similar to the BP one I’m wearing above.

For a lazy, casual, hanging around the house kind of day binge watching Netflix, this is the softest, cutest hoodie and pair of joggers.  Sometimes you can get too much of a good thing and I don’t recommend overdoing it on the leopard but this little set is an exception to the rule. 🙂

Tips On What to Do when Your Favorite Items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are Sold Out

I understand how frustrating it is when you love something and it’s already sold out!  But don’t despair!  I’ve been there too – searching for a sold out item.  It’s happened to me every year of the sale (I’ve been shopping this sale a LONG time) And almost every single year, I end up finding sold out pieces that I wanted.  The only exception was last year’s Michelle watch that was in the sale.  I missed that one and really wanted it.

Here are a few tips if your Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks Sell Out:

If the item is sold out, it won’t let you put anything in your cart.  But, in the event the item has some stock, immediately add that item to your cart. (No matter what size it is). By doing this, you can easily go into your saved shopping cart daily, click on the item and check its availability.

Make it a routine through your day to check that item in your cart by clicking on it.  I have the most luck first thing in the morning.  At the beginning of the sale it’s common for people to buy several sizes at once not sure what will fit.  Those items then get returned and Nordstrom is constantly adding that stock back on to its website.  The sale runs for several weeks so there is ample time to search.

The more you check on your item, the more chances you have of snagging it!

Happy Friday Friends!  I interrupt my normal scheduled program (actually blog – lol) this week to bring you the hot sellers so far from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year.  (I know how much you love the Friday Favorites posts and they will return next week.)

If you’re not familiar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (you can learn more from this post here).  Some naysayers understandably feel this sale can be blown out of proportion and let me be the first to say, I get it!  There are a bunch of us out there talking about it.  However, I’ve been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for over 5 years and I always find it so exciting.  No matter what people say, I still have snagged some of my favorite pieces during this annual sale at really phenomenal prices!

So I can tell you that I bought a LOT yesterday!!

Today, I’m pulling the top items I am most excited about getting and am showcasing them right here! (It was hard to whittle it down!)

Today the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access begins; the sale goes live online at 12;30 pm Eastern today, 7/12/19

This year, Nordstrom started something new: Those who are Icon and Ambassador Status in the Nordy Club had the opportunity to shop extra early this year.  I’m Ambassador (which basically means, I just buy too much)  this year and was able to shop the sale online one day early starting yesterday!

I can tell you from experience, these items can sell out VERY fast – many times, within hours!

Below you’ll find details on my favorite pieces!

My Best Finds From The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

1.BP. Stripe Cardigan – sale price: 45.90/after sale: 69.00

I love the colors in this striped cardigan!  I am pretty sure it’s the same cut as this one that I have (and love) that sold out fast last Fall.

2. Caslon Faux Fur Jacket – sale price: 65.90/after sale: 99.00

How cozy does this look!?  The color is stunning!

3. Topshop Long Cardigan – sale price: 44.90/after sale: 68.00

I had a slouchy cardigan with pockets similar to this a few years ago and lived in it!  This sweater looks so comfy!  And speaking of comfy, these Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Circle Cardigans never go on sale and sell out in a jiffy!

 4. Halogen Bold Plaid Coat – sale price: 169.90/after sale: 259.00

How about this bold pattern to brighten a dark Fall or Winter day!?

5. Mother The Hustler Jean – sale price: 151.90/after sale: 228.00

I got my first pair of mother jeans in white seen here during our trip to Milan.  I am excited about these!  They’ll sell fast

6. Halogen Raw Edge Tweed Jacket – sale price: 98.90/after sale: 149.00

Halogen Does it again this year with another killer raw edge tweed jacket!  I loved mine from last year here.

7. Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Como Throw Blanket – sale price: 119.90/after sale: 180.00

Another Barefoot Dreams staple!  I missed out on this one last year as it sold out SOO fast!  It also comes in leopard here.

8. Treasure & Bond Genuine Calf Hair Leopard Print Belt – sale price: 38.90/ after sale: 59.00

If you’ve followed me for long, I love big buckle belts!  This one is a winner!

9. Ugg Slipper – sale price: 54.90/after sale: 84.95

Ugg Slippers are another staple I get each year at this sale!  These sell out fast in the lighter colors!

10. Topshop Jamie High Waist Ripped Hem Jeans – sale price: 49.90/ after sale: 54.90

I LOVE Topshop denim!  They are slenderizing but run small imo.  I wear a 30 (I’m usually a 6)  in these generally.

11. Treasure & Bond Snakesking Trim Wool Hat– sale price: 38.90/after sale: 59.00

Love the snakeskin trim.  Snakeskin print is everywhere for Fall.  Great price for a wool hat!

12. Simplehuman Round Sensor Mirror  – sale price: 150.00/after sale: 250.00

I LOVE my lighted mirrors.  I bought this one for my vanity at the lake house we are building.  it’s a 100.00 savings!

13. Vince Camuto Bootie – sale price 99.90/after sale 149.95

I’ve already seen those who shopped in stores this week and snagged these Booties.  They look amazing wearing them on Instagram.  Probably my favorite find of the entire Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
