Dawned On Me

Several Readers recently requested suggestions on CUTE spring shoes!  Mention shoes and I am always HAPPY to oblige!   I am a shoe junkie and my shoe collection might very well rival Imelda Marcos’ collection! (well sort of…) 😉

There are so many great styles of shoes and sandals this season:  Wedges, heels, flats, sneakers…you name it, I’ve got you covered!

So grab another cup of coffee or maybe even a glass of wine – it’s time for my cute spring shoes roundup: The best shoes you need in your closet this season!

Cute Spring Shoes – Flats:

Everyone needs at least one pair of cute flat sandals this season.  I find flats can sometimes be uncomfortable so it takes me some time to find those that have a least a little padding or support in the foot bed. I love all three pictured above and find them comfortable!

Tory Burch Miller: (pictured far right)

This is one pair of sandals that is a bit of an investment, but TOTALLY worth it in my opinion.  The Tory Burch Miller sandals in nude go with everything!  They’re comfortable but run a bit on the small size.  My recommendation is to size up a half on these sandals.  They look great with shorts and jeans.  The nude color elongates your leg and goes with everything.

Steven Greece Sandals: (pictured lower left)

These Steven sandals are uber popular this season!  They come in four fabulous colors: white, black, cognac and rose gold. (pictured). I generally don’t gravitate to metallic colored shoes but after trying the white and cognac, there was just something about the rose gold I adored!  They look so pretty on the feet and are really eye catching!  Highly recommend!

Jessica Simpson studded sandals: (pictured at top)

You need these studded sandals!!  For one, at the time of publishing, these sandals are on sale!  They are under $45 – you can’t beat them!  The cork foot bed has a bit of cushion so they are comfy and I also love the little heel.  They look like expensive Valentinos!

Cute Spring Shoes – Wedges:

I happen to be partial to the wedge sandal!  (Can you tell!? ha!) At 5′ 5″ I love any opportunity to feel and look a bit taller!  Of course, comfort again is very important!  These wedges above are by far, a few of my all time favorites!

Steve Platform Wedge:

This wedge sandal is the sister to the Steven Greece slides I talked about above.  They run TTS and come white, metallic and cognac.  They look great with cropped denim!

Madden girl black wedge:

I don’t have too many black sandals.  It’s nice to have at least one pair.  These goes so nicely with a cute black dress or with jeans and a black top!  You might be thinking no way, those are too high!  They ARE high but you might be surprised how easy to walk in and how comfortable they are!  Don’t dismiss them until you try them!  I did notice the bottoms were a bit slippery.  These anti-skid pads are always good!

Tan Treasure & Bond wedges:

This wedge has been very popular the past year!  They come in 7 colors and are a perfect price point at under $80!  You can see me wearing them in this Instagram shot here.

Marc Fisher Nude Wedge:

At 50% off how can you go wrong!  Again, this nude color elongates the leg.  These are perfect with a pair of bermudas or jeans and are very comfy!

Jessica Simpson slides:

These might look risky being a high wedge and a slide in –  but again, they’re surprisingly quite comfy despite the appearance.  I love the square toe style and they have good arch support!  They come in three colors: cognac, black and leopard which are really pretty!  These were a pair I was like, “do I really need them?” and I answered yes!  They were too good to pass up!

Schutz platform:

Ok, you might be thinking huh? no way?!!  I can see where some trepidation creeps in!  But, after seeing these on someone I was like, WOW!  They look so cute with wide leg jeans!  (And speak of, I have to share these wide leg jeans here with you!  They also come in this lighter wash (size up) Until these jeans, I did not have luck finding any in this style – these are just perfect!)

Cute Spring Shoes – Casual/Sneaker Styles:

I’m don’t have a huge selection of sneakers in my closet!  I tend to grab my wedges and sandals first.  However, a comfortable pair of cute sneakers are a must when you’ll be walking great lengths or when you’re on vacation touring etc!  Hot this season are sneakers with a platform style bottom.  Check out this photo of Jlo wearing the platform sneakers and how cute they look!

Steve Madden Wedge:

I included these in the sneaker section of this post but realistically, you’re not going to walk all day in these.  These are amazingly cute with white denim!!  They are a great dupe of these Stella McCartney wedges at a fraction of the price.  Note however, they are narrow.  I love them so much I bought this shoe stretcher and will stretch them out a bit (for reference, I am a medium width but would say on the wider side of medium.).  These are a nice value under $100.

Linea Paolo platform sneakers:

These perforated platforms are beauties!  They are narrow again and I opted instead for the next pair I’m going to tell you about simply due to width.  If you have a narrower foot or want to stretch these, I think they are perfect!  They give you a few extra inches of height and the style is spot on!

Steve Madden Chunky Sneakers:

These are a wider shoe and come in a variety of accent colors.  I opted for the snakeskin.  They also come in black and leopard accents.  There is also a solid black pair.  They are very comfortable but I sized up an entire size.  I felt they ran small.

Cute Spring Shoes – Heels:

Lucky Espadrille Sandal:

Love how they put the roping or the defining characteristic of an espadrille into a heel form.  They come in three colors but again, I’m drawn to the nude tones that help make your leg look longer.

Criss Cross Mule: 

These mules have a modest height heel.  They are comfy and while they come in 5 colors, I think think this pretty brushed gold tone goes with everything in your wardrobe.  Great with dresses and skirts!

Number one and eight can be seen here on me below.  The jacket runs small.  I have it in the navy and cream and  I love the gold buttons and the cut!  The jeans are a bit pricey but they are SO comfortable.  I had to splurge!  The chewed hems and the high waist with the perfect amount of stretch make them simply perfect!  You cans see how I styled these two pieces here:

I have had theses sunglasses (number six) for a while now!  They are my “go to” pair!  They are the perfect size.  Not too big or small and they stay put on my face.  I have a narrower nose and sometimes have a hard time with sunglasses not fitting.  Seen here:

Looking to invest in a pair of heels that really could serve as the only high heel (number seven) you’ll ever need?  Now is the time to invest and save on these nude classics!  They go with everything and are timeless!

Woven accessories are so popular and these sandals (number eleven) and this wicker bag (number nine) will be getting you a ton of compliments!  Meanwhile, platform sneakers (number 14) are everywhere this season!  I saw Jlo wearing a pair and fell in love with the look!

In search of a great white T-shirt (number 22)  I love the crew neck and the sleeve length is so good!

Protecting your face from the sun’s rays is a must…this hat (number 18) is great in the yard and by the pool or beach!

I have so many shoes and shooties and I’d love to wear socks but they show!  These little low cut socks (number 23) stay one and do the job when you still want to wear a sock but don’t want them to show!

My Favorite Things On The Internet This Week – 5

 

Happy Friday friends!  Hope you had a fabulous first week of April!  As we head into the weekend, another installment of My Favorite Things On The Internet This Week:

An Eagle update! Well, April was off to an awesome start for one Eagle family!  Last month I talked about this cool Eagle cam in this post here.  This week all three eaglets hatched!  It’s so fascinating to watch this close up!  Make sure to check out the highlights section of the site here.

Since I publish this post on Fridays, I always try to include something to help you unwind and relax for the weekend!  If you like to soak in the tub as much as I do, this product is a MUST have!  It claims it’s ideal for nightime aches, stiff joints and sore muscles!  It’s a combination of epson salt, menthol and essential oils!  The scent is fabulous and SO soothing!  It gives just the perfect amount of bubbles.  If you feel you just need to unwind tonight, get yourself a bag of this stuff!  (You can also find it at Walmart!)

Speaking of FABULOUS scents, this has to be my FAVORITE perfume of ALL TIME!  You guys, this stuff is beyond amazing!  Ok, some background on this scent.  My friend came over to help me with a household emergency one summer afternoon.  We were running around my backyard and I kept getting a whiff of something so incredible!  She told me it was actually an oil.  So, I guess technically, it’s not a perfume but an oil.  A little goes a long way! That was the brown version (called ambre)  BUT then they came out with the purple version (ahnu)  OMGEEE!!!! It’s SO good!  I walked into a little bookstore in Culver, In and the cashier just about jumped over the counter.  Before I left the store, she was already on her computer ordering it!  I can’t tell you how many people compliment it!  It’s such a unique scent!  You can not go wrong with either scent but if I had to live with only one, it would be Ahnu.  For my local South Bend, In readers, you can find Ambre Blends at Sorella Botique in Heritage Square in Granger.

If you have plans to curl up on the couch and binge watch Netflix, don’t forget the POPCORN!!!  How cute is this hot air popper – no oil required?!  I saw a couple You-Tubers talk about these air poppers!  Some people swear by this popcorn!  The reviews are fantastic!  And speaking of crazy good reviews….check out this popcorn salt!!!  I’m making myself hungry!!! 🙂

If you order a ton of stuff online like I do, you won’t want to live without these!! I keep these all over the house..on my desk, in my kitchen drawer, my laundry room, in the basement!  They come in so handy!  It makes it so easy to open all your packages!

Do you have dry lips or want to avoid those annoying little lines that come with age?  Put this on nightly before bed!  I have the original but I hear raves about the apple-lime flavor too! Before this lip mask, I would use Carmex but I am using this from now on!  It really hydrates your lips and keeps them in healthy condition!

So you have lip pencils, eyebrow pencils and eyeliners…all need sharpening BUT they are all different sizes!!  Worry no longer!  Here is the BEST 5 in 1 pencil sharpener.  Why didn’t I think of this? Genius!

Have kids (especially in my case, boys!) whose laundry never comes out smelling as wonderful as you’d like it to?  I’ve even noticed my towels aren’t nearly as fresh smelling as I’d like.  I picked up this scent booster  recently and I’m obsessed!  It REALLY makes the laundry smell great!  You just toss a capful or so into the washer before adding your clothes and BAM!

This long sleeve, ribbed T-shirt just arrived the other day!  It is the SOFTEST T-shirt ever!  It’s so comfortable!  Get one in every color!!

Have a long flight in coach coming up?  You might want to kick up your feet and just relax with this interesting gadget.  A blogger friend just went to Japan and bought these for her trip.  She and her daughter reported back saying they attach to the tray table and worked great!

I saw someone who looked so cute in this simple yet chic dress!  I love the pockets too!  Comes in a ton of colors and for under $25 how can you go wrong?  Perfect summer look!  Ordering one now!

Happy Friday and welcome to another installment of My Favorite Things On The Internet This Week!  I’ve gotten a ton of positive response to these posts and I want to thank everyone who who has sent over such nice comments about it!

I have a bunch of goodies for you this week so let’s get started!

Jlo may have just gotten the biggest diamond engagement ring known to man!  While most of us can never match that kind of bling, we can at least walk around with the “Jlo-glow” thanks to this fabulous new video uploaded this week by one of my favorite You Tube beauty bloggers, Tati!  Jlo’s legendary make up artist Scott Barnes does Tati’s make up in this video.  When I tuned in, I was like 30 min?  I don’t have the time!  Guess what? I got sucked in and watched the entire thing!  If you’re like me, by the time it’s over you’ll be drooling over Scott’s brushes.  You can use code TATI20 for 20 percent off Scott’s site!  I so want his ENTIRE brush set.  It’s a great value with the 20% off but it’s sold out!  Hopefully it will be restocked and the code will still work. (Fingers crossed because Tati always raves about his brushes)  Damn, I want the glow don’t you?!!

I really struggle with time management!  I can start one project, get distracted and start another and then nothing gets done!   This little, cool gadget really helps with time management and keeping me on track.  It’s simple and effective!  Just turn the cube timer to your desired time to get something done.  2, 10, 20 or 45 minute increments.  When it goes off your time is up! 🙂

Oh my GOODNESS!!  If you love home design/decor/landscape….This website is THE BEST!!  There is one mouth watering home after another featured!  As some of you know, we are building a lake house so I’m always scouring the internet for amazing ideas!  This is the site to check out if you’re building or just love to drool.  What is fabulous is that they source as much as they can!  They’ll tell you everything from the paint colors to where the fixtures are from.  I check it out every week!

Tired of hearing (or trying) diets like Keto, Atkins etc?  I am!  I’m a big believer in a nutrition plan that is sustainable for the long haul!  Heard about this book and plan to read it!  Gets great reviews!

If you live in a cold winter climate like I do you might want to start thinking about actually exposing your legs here in about a month or so (if we are lucky)  – My legs were always dry and flakey until I discovered this product!  I despise taking time to smear moisturizer all over myself after the shower.  That’s why I love this stuff!!  You keep it in the shower.  Just before getting out, you rub this cream all over and then lightly rinse off.  When you dry off,  just gently pat off with your towel.  This cream locks in the moisture, it’s super fast and easy and has REALLY helped improve the condition of my legs where I tend to be the driest.  (It does not make my shower floor slippery but be careful and check if it does yours)

I just got this bucket bag!  I think accessories can elevate an outfit! It has acrylic handles and a removable strap that can also be worn crossbody!   This bag is $52 and closely resembles this Staud bag. The difference? About $325!!

Oh boy, the Ulta 21 days of beauty is killing my checking account this week!  There are so many GREAT deals each day!  Friday’s deals look AMAZING!  I swear by this Peter Thomas Roth face cream so I can’t wait to try this product by PTR at half price on Friday!  This eye palette, (gets great reviews and will sell out fast!) and this popular eye shadow primer are also half off Friday.  These great daily deals continue until April 6th so check it out each day!

I’m running out to Target tomorrow to buy this low sugar vanilla yogurt!  I love yogurt but so many brands are loaded with sugar!  My friend told me about this stuff!  Her tips:  She likesto  add a splash of sugar free vanilla syrup and a few of these stevia dark chocolate chips!

Heading for a beach vacation or spring break?  A friend brought this faux leather tote over a couple of years when I had a little pool gathering at my house.  It held a ton and I asked her where she got it! Target??? No Way!  I got one and always travel with it!  This one is reversible and I love the gold side!  It holds up great on the beach and the sand just slides right out of it for easy maintenance!

I’ve been seeing a lot of bloggers raving about this Hermes dupe bracelet.  For $15 bucks, I say go for it!
